Then you can just add 2021 Winter to your DAW you have a much smaller and more manageable structure that is curated to navigate. Repeat for whatever groups of sounds typically fit your genre. I just spend time creating mini libraries for myself out of the main one.īasically my workflow is to go in, create an auto export folder like "2021 Winter Kicks", set it to auto export into a new file system folder "2021 Winter" and fill it with some kicks in the sound you like now. I don't try to organize the complete sound library. The newest update in Sononym really fits my workflow. That was one of the things that drew me to XO, but I felt limited by it only handling drum sounds. The one possible exception IMO is just having a "favorites" list. ![]() so not really.) Is it by pitch? Is it by brightness of the transient? Is it by sample pack origin? Is is by length of the kick? "Genre" aka "house-ish" or "dnb-ish" or whatever? (Even though you can use any kick drum in any genre. I've tried doing this in the past and the problem I've found is that there are way too many kick drums to just have one big kick folder, but trying to categorize kick drums is crazy making. Unless you really, really like organizing your sample library. Then you just click around for a minute until you find a good option. You can always put the name of the sample pack in the search box to filter the galaxy results down to that sample pack. When I get new sample packs I just add them to XO and that's that. Just use XO or Atlas and let the AI put your entire sample library onto a giant, easily explored galaxy of sonic options and rejoice in never having to organize your sample library again.
